Schedule and Program Overview

Children aged 30 months-school-aged are permitted to be enrolled in this program. The ratio of caregivers to children is 1:8. There can be no more than 2 children under 3/room.  We have two rooms for this age group, Bear's Den and Fox's Den.  We will place your child in the room that best suits their personality and the dynamics of the room. Siblings may not be necessarily placed together if the teachers feel they would thrive more apart.  This may take some time of getting to know your child and may be adjusted as needed

This schedule will be a rough guideline to follow each day but the flexibility of our staff will allow for the individual needs of the group and attention to the needs of individuals.

Our philosophy is built on the foundation that children learn through play. If a child shows a particular interest in a subject or object we will do our best to integrate it into our schedule and play for the day or week or wherever it takes us!

Free play will consist of a relaxed time for the children to transition, gain independence through choice and interaction with their peers. Staff members will be available for interaction and facilitation of play. Sensory bins and/or water play will be a regular part of free play and will change on an ongoing basis to facilitate interest. Free play is such a vital time for kids, they gain independence, are able to make choices for themselves and it gives children and opportunity to socialize and gain social skills. All activities will be age-appropriate and monitored for safety.

Circle time will incorporate songs, stories, finger plays and more. Circle time is such a wonderful time for the children to come together as a group where they can learn social skills, expand their attention span and listening skills. Children will be encouraged to join, but not forced. We want their experience to be a positive one. Through involving the children in the activities and giving them choices this will promote independence and a more positive outcome.

During our structured art time the children will have a chance to engage in age appropriate process art as a group, the children are encouraged to join in. This time of the day can get messy but we will provide smocks and everything we use will be non-toxic and washable. We will be working with paint, play dough, finger paints, collage materials and more. All activities will be closely monitored and activities adapted to the different ages and abilities.

Snack time is a social affair around here; we will all sit down together including the staff. Of course individual needs will be considered and if a child is hungry or asks for food we will accommodate their individual needs.

Outdoor play will consist of organized games as well as free play. Weather permitting we will be able to enjoy a safe fenced in play yard with toys, sand and gross motor activities, such as trikes, and climbers. All equipment will be age appropriate and provisions made for the safety of our youngest children, such as separate play areas.

Anything before 8:00 or after 5:00 must be scheduled in advance in writing to silly.monkey.childcare@gmail.com and is subject to availability and staffing.  Anything before a 7:30 drop-off time or pick-up time after 5:00 is subject to an extra fee of $5.00 per day.

Fees for preschool will be reduced for children also enrolled in care at Silly Monkeys Daycare.

Contracted enrollment of 5 full days/week 50% reduction in preschool fees.
Contracted enrollment of 3-4 full days/week 25% reduction in preschool fees.
1-2 days of enrollment will not result in a reduction of preschool fees.

Preschool Fees:
3 days/week $165/month
2 days/week $140/month

So a child who is full-time in daycare would only pay $82.50/month for 3 days/week of preschool!
